Aside from the Ford Lightnings, late-model GMs were out in force at this year's Throwdown, and Rick Lopez' 2008 GMC Sierra is a wolf in sheep's clothing with yet another regular-cab 6.0L swap. But this is no simple factory mill swap. The engine was built by All-Out Performance with ported LS6 heads and a Dougherty Racing cam. The 4L70 transmission is fortified with a 4,000-stall converter, with a 4.11 rear end and a TrueTrac Posi.
The truck got a 4-inch front and 6-inch rear drop but rolls undercover on stock 20-inch wheels shod in definitely non-stock 315-35/20 drag tires at all four corners. It may look like your typical dropped late-model Sierra, but be forewarned, this plain-looking pickup is packing serious heat. Is a new set of wheels what you want, but cash is limited? Consider Rust-Oleum® High Performance Wheel paint before you throw-down big cash.
